Bangalore SHG June 22, 2014 meeting report

As always , we met on Sunday the 22nd June in Cubbon park and bangalore is pleasant with cool weather on any given day.

At first we had an introduction round. Not surprisingly we surpassed the double digits with 11 participants this time. It was a blend of new and old faces and the introduction round was short and sweet.

The 11 members who took time out to improve themselves and others were Abhinav,Akash dixit, Anita singh , Anupam ,Arun kumar, Dinesh , Pramod , Sai ram , Shamail, Esu babu ( New member ) and myself Sharath.

This week's session was very energizing. It was an event packed with good learning and good fun. Myself laughed to the core with people sharing recollecting their childhood events.

Stammering .. Disability or Not??..let us re-consider our views.

Guys I have written an article to support stammering as disability.These are my personal beliefs and and I used somewhere critic language.So ..please dont mind...Next time writing any post I will be more polite.

A section of stutters agrees being branded as disabled as they are able to benefit from it, where as other section do not agree as they do not feel good to get recognized themselves as Disabled.

   I am writing this article to support stammering as disability.Initially I was against to be called as  “Disabled.” Then I thought in wider perspective. I realized that it is needed to declare stammering as  disability.We can give a speech on positive thinking ,body language or have an positive idea about our  stammering .But when we talk about all these things, we actually talk about a few PWS connected to TISA like  SHGs and who are mild stutters.There may not be a recognizable connection between success and  stammering but its only true in case of mild stuttering.Let us think in broader perspective. We are 700-800  PWS, if we combine both TISA and Yahoo PWS group, In which hardly 200 PWS are active. In an  estimation about 1 Crore stutters are there in India.  If we compare this number to our active members than  its much high. We should take any decision taking care of majority. The PWS who are not attached to any  SHG movement living a mysterious life thinking that one day someone will come to hold their finger .They are  not so internet friendly to know about our group. If we talk about awareness than it will take long-long time to  do that with our limited resources. In this time period lakhs of our stutter friends will die in darkness. Making  one life better is making whole humanity

Stammering is not "the" problem 

Hi All,
Here is report for Bangalore SHG meeting held on Dec 07, 2013 between 2PM to 5PM.

Attendees - Daring Dinesh, Powerful Pramod, Attractive Akash, Tejaswi Tapan ( New member ), Marvellous Manoj ( New member) and myself Adventurous Abhinav

Dinesh and I started meeting at sharp 2PM. We came around 1:45 PM to center and spent 15 mins on talking about Sri M, a living yogi (Dinesh and I have read his book "Apprenticed to a Himalayan Master") and we thought it will be good to discuss few points from his book while we were alone. Today two new members Tapan and Manoj joined TISA family so we spend initial 45 mins in clearing their doubts and questions regarding SHG meetings and our weekly activities.

 This week the meeting was conducted in sight of lush green surroundings in cubbon park, situated in the heart of Bangalore this place attracts all kinds of people holding gatherings, walking, relaxing and some jogging. Among these we were lucky to occupy the sole porch with shelter on top.

Participated in a TV Talk show shooting

Dear all,

I received a phone call last week from ‘Pudiya Thalaimurai TV’, a Tamil news channel informing that they were going to launch an entertainment channel by name ‘Pudu Yugam TV’ from 14^th Oct’2013 onwards. In this connection, they wanted me to participate in a shooting for a morning talk show in view of ISAD on 22^nd Oct which would be telecast on that day. They searched out my name from internet and requested me to name a SLP also for that talk show. I told them that TISA is a SHG and generally not agreeing to the views of SLP.
