BENGALURU SHG MEETING REPORT – 17.03.2013

Venue - PARADYGMLAW, SILK BOARD, BENGALURU

Attendees – Dinesh, Sairam, Abhinav, Pramod, Avnish, Thenna, Nayeem, Chandrashekar, Chandan, Lohit  and Ningappa, who came all the way from Mysore to attend the SHG.
Starting with introduction of each individual, We moved on to reading aloud the Self help manual .Following these activities which went on for more than an hour, the Toastmaster  style of speeches were delivered.

Three speakers Chandrashekar, Avnish and Lohit gave their prepared speeches.
Avnish broke the ice with his well organized introductory speech.The speech covered almost every aspect about which we would like to know about him.
Lohit gave a very informative speech on the importance of water, ways to save water and proper usage of water.
Chandrashekar mesmerized us with his story telling capability in is project 3, the story of Ecklavya and Dronacharya.


Ground Nut Award winners :
Note : Ground nut awards are like ‘On the spot’ awards for best performers on the meeting day , Introduced by Dinesh.

Best speech - Chandrashekar
Best role play – Pramod (Grammarian role , Soon planning  to conduct grammar classes to SHG members)
Best evaluator  - Chandan

And as usual Sairam showcases his multitasking skills by helping out the role players. Kudos to him.

After this, Ningappa (SHG co-ordinator for Mysore ) an active PWS from Mysore introduced himself in all the 3 languages Kannada, Hindhi and English. Dinesh gifted him with most valuable bundle SHG manuals.

Chandan came up with an innovative and interesting activity of expressing one’s perception on stammering artistically through a sketch in the white board. Everyone came up with unique sketches on expressing their stammer and described them. Thanks to Chandan.

After that, Sairam shared a motivating  poem and Thenna shared his Saturday evening movie experience.

The meeting came to an end with Dinesh creating  teams to take responsibilities on each activity related to SHG , The teams are

Blogging team
Online team
Induction team for new and aspiring joinees in the SHG.

The SHG meetings are being conducted as well as some of the best workshops in Voluntary sector, I have known.. Amazing. Keep up this search for excellence..
