Speech practise helps.......really!!!

In last few days, i have talked to a number of PWS and discussed the various measures to CONTROL stammering and communicate effectively.

Most of them advised me to PRACTICE speech techniques REGULARLY for a significant time for any good results.

So, i just started about 30 min practice a day from last 1 week and i can feel more control and comfort in those FEARFUL situations.

Really,it works!!!

Now, i can relate that how people like HRITIK ROSHAN can have so much control over their stammering as he is practicing 1 hour a day from more than last 15 yrs or so.

Speech practice reminds me to talk SLOW and DELIBERATELY in those fearful situations.

I practice PROLONGATION,SLOW SPEAKING and BOUNCING althogether.

Let us see how it goes further....

Yes, it works. We just have to be regular and intelligent about it.. By intelligence I mean, we need to upgrade the challenge regularly. "Slow reading" daily for one hour, may not benefit a pws after 2-3 months; then, he /she must go on to the next level: talking to strangers in a SHG etc. etc.

Congrats Ashish. Continue Practice therapy with all the zest.

Hrithik Roshan is very good example for us to emulate, in the
sense he not only practiced 1 hour speech therapy dedicatedley but
1) Was improving his dancing skills parallely
2) Was improving his Acting skills parallely
3) Was sculpting his body Parallely

There was all-round development. When we start doing good in other areas it rubs-on to the areas on which we are not doing so good!!

When "becoming fluent" becomes the only goal in our life then we make life difficult for ourself by not focussing parallely on other important areas which needs due attention.

Keep sharing your experiences.. Thanks.

Ashish bahi bahut hi badiya...as sachin sir says we have work intelligently ..when we practice for some technique our goal is to speak with ease and we start to measure our growth with this parameter only which is not right, we should be more intelligent to chose our growth indicator....... waiting for ur next post when u pass one more week practicing techniques

Yes. It really help us to improve our speech. I personally experienced it. I practiced for about one hour in the morning after undergone speech therapy for about 6 months. I was really speaking well upto 2pm, speaking better upto 6pm and with less stammering till 10pm. If I do not practice next day, I stammered badly the whole day.

My problem is I fell sick after 6 months and I was unable to practice for the next 15 days resulted I started stammering very badly. Then I lost interest and discontinued the practice. This happened in the year 2000. Of course there was no TISA that time; no acceptance concept that time; the speech therapist never dealt emotional factor;
My suggestion is apart from practice, we must also participate SHG meetings, come out of comfort zone and face the real challenges. Now I am doing meditation for one hour daily which is sufficient for me. Even though I am stammering here and there, I do not mind and moving forward to the next activity without any botheration about my stammering.

Yeah It helps, but we have to be regular. It should be part of our curriculam, like eating and sleeping.
means do no miss even one time also in a day.

I am new to this group. Can anyone please share me the detail what all kind of speech practise we can do at home. I just do reading books aloud when I am alone. It helps a bit.
I stammer a lot in group situations, especially in official meetings. So I generally stay away from such situations. Even if I attend any such meetings my mind is blocked. I couldn’t able to make any comments. I stay calm & come out of the meeting.
This is my major concern now. Please guide me how to overcome this situation.
