News of Hyderabad SHG happened on May 27th

Today's SHG meeting has given new challenges and made us stammer with ease:)
Meeting timings---9am to 2:30pm.
What we learned from today's meeting is
1)Start every time with fresh mind without thinking about bad experiences
2)Stammer with ease, we never stopped nor felt too much bad when we stammered.
Members who attended meeting are
(from left to right w.r.t picture) 1)Aditya(new guest and ex-pws) 2)Naman Anand 3)Sravan Reddy 4)Mahipal 5)Sugandh Rakha 6)Shashi Kiran 7)Rajesh (myself sitting down )
(Activity-1 ) All members have introduced themselves to group in a slow and confident manner. All were surprised and happy seeing Mr.Mahipal with great confidence in his speech.
(Activity-2) In this activity we had fun and at the same time increased our efficiency of speaking loud.
We all stood in a line maintaining about 6 meters of distance between each.
1st person will shout out a question to the last person and last person has to answer him back again loudly. After that the first person and last person will interchange with 2nd person and last but one person respectively and now again the activity continues. As we are long distance apart we have to shout loudly so it was fun shouting in park :)
(Activity-3) Mr.Sugandh has served as an officer in ToastMasters club, he has brought TM club's manual and read its objectives and levels in the TM club.He has given a good awareness on TM club as most of us are planning to join it soon :) So he has also introduced us with "table topics" in TM club which is also called as "extempore round". Everyone will be given a word/topic and they have to speak on that for 2minutes. From next week we are going to have few TM club's activities also included with our regular activities. Next week 3 members have to give a speech about their self introductions (which is called icebreaker speech in TM club).
(Activity-4) We played questions and answers round where a member will be answering for the last question instead of the present question asked and questions go on.We usually concentrated on questions and their answers rather than our speech patterns.
(Activity-5) We meditated for sometime and after that had a great discussion on meditation and powers of subconscious mind.Everyone has given their view and experiences on meditation.
Time was 2pm and sun was too hot, so we have to tell bye to each other.
(Activity-6) Our meeting without voluntary stuttering is not at all complete so Naman and me went to MacD for doing voluntary stuttering. After eating our satisfied MacD meal we both signed off the meeting for the day.
Everyone in the group are inspiring.
By seeing each others we are learning a lot in these meetings.
1.Aditya is a an ex-pws and has  excelled slow speaking and came to meet us personally to share tips
2.Naman has also excelled slow speaking and bouncing style of talking.
3.Sravan is so cool in his talks, he maintains it and he talks too much slow.
4.Mahipal has shown his great confidence and never stops and pauses like past.
5.Sugnadh has excelled in "acceptance".He never stops when he blocks and he says what he wanted to talk at any cost. This quality in his has impressed all of us in group. He has been with TM club for 3 years and started 4 TM clubs in Hyderabd.
6.Shashi  excelled in his slow speaking and bouncing style of talking.

"Table Topics" activity happening event

Together We Step Up :) Together We Succeed :)

well done rajesh. your enthusiasm is so infectious, that it shows in your posts. Sugandh has been very active in toastmasters for the past few years, and i am surprised (pleasantly) to know that he is a PWS. Even i am a PWS and a member of Toastmasters, Pune. it is such a small world out there :)

Sorry guys for the late reply. was held up with other activities. Toastmasters is a good platform to shed your fears about public speaking. recently we have had a PWS who gave his ice-breaker (self introduction) speech. He did have a crippling stammer, and that's what he exactly did. But guess what, he got a standing ovation when he was done. so this world is not that bad a place to be, as we most of the time think. You will always be your best critic, not the world.
