Acceptance --sounds simple!

Acceptance is the first and the most important step in improving our speech. I came across this word, when I found TISA and met Sachin sir in last week of November 2011. I learned more about acceptance in the First national conference on stammering held at Bhubaneswar, Orissa from 28 December 2011 – 01 January 2012 (I feel really proud, being a part of it) which I had attended with my loving, caring and understanding Father.

Now 4 months had passed and yet I feel I haven’t understood the word completely or correctly. I had attended many SHG meetings at herbertpur and even Shimla Get Together meet. And I still find myself away from the word acceptance. I have acceptanced my stammering but also I hate my stammering a lot, I don't want to stammer.

So what exactly acceptance is ? & The important question is how to get acceptance deep down into your being ? What is the role of Ego in acceptance ?

Yes- acceptance is a long long journey- and it goes beyond stammering to almost every thing in life. I too have not "arrived" yet. To give an example about acceptance: The way I accept the fact that I was born in a male body, in a town called Allahabad- and am not apologetic about it- same way, I should be able to accept that I am born in a body, which has a tendency to stammer sometime. Having accepted that- I should focus on developing and honing my communication skills- rather than running from one "cure center" to another "cure center" all my life..
THAT is the whole idea in brief.

Sachin ji explained it beautifully,

You can even do these things.
Acceptance of stuttering may be easy if you prove yourself without hiding your stuttering.
So follow these things if possible.
1)Convey to your friends that you stutter(even they know tell them explicitly).
2)Do voluntary stuttering daily few times.
3)Remember you are very important and a loved one in this world for others(like your parents and friends) even though you being a trans-fluencer.This breaks barrier of seeing stuttering as a hurdle in life.
4)Get self satisfied with filling the fluency speaking percentile daily. Don't aim for 100% fluency at initial days.
Today increase your fluency by 1%
Increase your capacity of slow reading by 1%
Increase good breathing process by 1%
Tomorrow increase all by 1% percent again.
One day you will reach 100% in all making you confident and strong like a stone wall, like an ocean....
All The Best.

With Regards.
