In response to a press release in Gujarati about SHG in Surat, I got about 15 phone calls. The learnings that I derive from those calls are
None of the call was from PWS himself/herself. All of them were FOR PWS BUT, family members were talking. It may have become a bit easier for us (who are part of TISA movement) to use telephone but it is still a far cry for most PWS.
A significant proportion of call came from outside Surat city and from rural areas where saying 'Have a look at our TISA website/blog' would be irrelevant. What else can we offer them?
I think having a two page FAQs in English, Hindi and other Indian languages would be a ready reckoner for distribution.
Also a good amount of phones came from mothers of CWS which shows us the importance of CWS category in TISA movement and special efforts required for them.
It would also be a good idea to create a five minutes TISA introductory video and to upload it on Youtube.
I look forward to receive comments.

Dear Akash- very correct. Many in cities too cant access TISA web easily.. CWS in Villages are a special challenge. Pamphlets in regional language is a good idea. The TISA intro video is a good idea- and I will be working at it.. Keep throwing up such ideas..
This is a real challenge. As we see most of the people here got connect ed are because of internet and tisa site. Giving ads in regional newspaper at regular intervals can be one option. A program in local radio/tv channels can help too.
I guess, we should also try and turn back to traditional ways... Taking forward what Sujit says, why not we broadcast the introductory video on Doordarshan or AIR ? And yes, Print media is always there to be relied upon...
I think the above 3 media have the best reach then a media like internet, in our country... what say ?
There is nothing to say now! We need to act! We have already talked to AIR. Now we need sponsers for our program. Hopefully we will have some sucess very soon in Pune!
