Friends, it gives me great pleasure to see a new initiative unfold- for children and teenagers who stammer; This is the most vulnerable group; peer pressure is very high and even the smallest indiscreet or chance comment by anyone, can drive young people to self-harm in so many ways (BBC news). Dhruv and FRIENDS are planning a two day convention in Mumbai. Here are details:

How can you help? Get in touch with families which have one (or more) children or teenager who are facing stammering issue. Tell them that help is available - and that it is the whole family, which must participate and understand their role, because they TRULY have a huge role in helping CWS, help him/herself. Tell them- above all, it would be lot of fun to meet other children and their families and people from FRIENDS and SPEAK. (I think Pune and Mumbai SHG are best placed to help; Get in touch with Dhruv if you need more ideas as to how to go about it..)
