Chandigarh Comm WS

Kisan Bhawan, Chandigarh
Accounts Shared
Brief Report: Main activities conducted were Stammering Interviews (first among participants, then with strangers) and Mutual videography while phoning. Most participants reported that Interviews with strangers (Rose garden and Sukhna lake) was more challenging and rewarding. But yes, discussions, feedback round and other indoor activities in an AC conference room, were also fun and useful- using a Mic was empowering for many of us.
Organizers were surprised at the high response: participants came from Goa, Maharashtra, MP, Delhi and Uttarakhand. Arrangements: thanks to Jasmeet and Pramod ji, were excellent, affordable and very accessible. Dr Naresh Tejpal distributed trophies and gave his best wishes to participants at the end. BSNL was represented by two senior officers. Anupinder and Hemant must be thanked for their role in making it successful. Abhishek, Rakesh, Dikshit, Dnyaneshwar.. many old faces made the experience FUN. Thanks to all.
The real challenge begins NOW: can you continue these activities and momentum on your own OR with the help of your SHG?
Day 2: Dnyanesh, Vivek and Kapildev interview a group

Day 2: Everyone "brags" about their exploits in Rose garden..
The evening before : almost everyone is here- from Goa, Delhi...
Some pics from day one:
Khana peena, gup shup in canteen
Mutual Interviews
Using a mic was a great experience..
Panel interview!
Speaking against distraction..
Sumit, making a point..
At Sukhna lake, we had good interactions with strangers. More interviews. Many participants said that such interactions are better than indoor class...
Day 2: What do people think? Let us find out..
Day 2:
Recap, some new friends joined
Mukul records everything (for later analysis?)

Chandigarh Conference was great experience. Some of the takeaways :
1)If we can accept our brothers stammer freely, then only we can accept our stammer and free our mind that what others are thinking about our stammer.
2)i have found that Talking with the strangers about stammering is not very difficult. One just need to take initiative and start the talk.I goes well. The Society is more accepting then we think. So we should be more open.We should never have gult about our stammer.
3)As Naresh Sir said, stammer is like weak eyesight. No one objects to spectacles. So talking with stammer is like that only.First we have to accept it whole heatedly.
4)Its great experience and improved me a lot.
5)I first time met Sh. Sachin sir in person.Sachin sir is great soul living and celebrating the dreams of others. And improving a lot of lives ,me included.

@Paramjeet: Sir ji- You have distilled the main learning so well! Let us hang on to these ideas and lessons learned..
@Jasmeet: 100% right. Let it be the first among the many workshops, events, SHGs you will continue to organise and conduct in future.. Hai naa? Movement is life. Let us keep on doing such get-together, interviews, meetings.. and spread the message.
Thanks a lot!
