Patna Bihar SHG Meeting Report 24 July 2016

It was a chilly and cold climate when we began our meeting at Gandhi Maidan right at 4.30 PM. At first me and Suraj had arrived on time and discussed & shared our experience on stammering. Suraj has a great sense of humor so we both enjoyed each other time. In the meantime, Rishikesh is also joined us at the meeting but little late.

Rishikesh also continued sharing his stammering experience which he faced in previous week. Rishikesh said he face trouble in making an attendance in classroom.  So we Suraj gave him a best advice to just go and tell the teachers about your stammering and I am sure they will know the "real problem" faced by you while giving attendance.

I still remember my days when I used to face a lots of problems in making attendance in my school and college days. I used to tell my classmate seating just aside me to make my attendance. That was the most horrifying situation for me as it drained all my confidence and as the result I did nothing for myself but only the regret left behind me. So I always tell my young stammer friend to boost your confidence any way and stop complaining about your stammering, Instead work for it.

We also debated on many topics which gave us a sense of freedom when we stammer talk with each other. I think This is the magic of TISA SHG Meeting.

We also decided to give one hour extra for the practice session before the meeting. It will help all of us in giving an extra time for the practice in a group because Practice makes the speech perfect.

Finally we ended our meeting by clicking selfie and said goodbye to each other.

Yes, quite often the solution is right in front of us but we cant believe it: Just tell the teacher - in writing if needed. Why dont we use this good solution? I guess, just because there is no precedent. OR even if there is a precedent, we do not know.

Now, in TISA many young people have done exactly this- telling the other person- and have written about it on this blog! So that, a precedent starts and so that people in future do not have to worry so much about finding a solution: It is there. It has been used by many. And it works.

I loved the picture- has a 70's look!

Please remember the Guru mantra. It is only I who can work on my stammering.
Don't shy away to use any technique to improve on your communication.
Keep moving Patna SHG and try more PWS to be associated.
