This is indeed true. One month back we got the opportunity to interact with students from Canada ( click here to read) and now this time we had the opportunity of interacting with students from USA.

On 29th May, 2016, a group of students from Boston University, USA arrived in India. They were here India for there mission- Operations Groundswell. The strength of the group was around 20-25. The meeting was scheduled at our favorite place- Sitaram Ashram, Dehradun.

On behalf of TISA, 13 members marked their presence from as far as Hoshiarpur and Saharanpur. For a change, most of the members from Dehradun turned up as well !! The facilitator of the meeting was none other than our mentor, guru and friend Dr Sachin.

TISA Dehradun SHG Meeting- 21st February, 2016

Hey everyone! Hope you all are doing well. This Sunday, TISA Dehradun SHG organized the communication meet at Gandhi Park in Dehradun.

Total No of participants- 10

Name of the participants- Ashish, Dinesh Kumar Soni, Dinesh Kumar, Laxman, Harmeet, Jasmeet, Akash, Mohit, Chandra Mohan, Ujjwal (non-stammerer).

As usual, most of the members were late! From next time, we have to be more punctual otherwise it ruins all the plans. Anyways, we had 4 new members in this meet. Akash, Dinesh Kumar, Laxman and Jasmeet.

We started with the introductions. Everyone introduced themselves with an amazing stutter and clutter !! They told their name, occupation, address and phone numbers. And as usual, we had uninvited guests as well who are always welcomed to provide that deadly glare !!

In this meet, we planned to had mock interviews of the participants. For this special task, we had a special guest. Mr Ujjwal Aggarwal from Group Flyway Enterprises, a job consultancy firm based in Dehradun, came specially to conduct the interviews. In the panel, we had Mr Ujjwal and Mr Dinesh Kumar Soni, Senior Economic Investigator.

According to the "candidates" they had the actual experience of an interview and it really gave them the required exposure. At the end, Mr Ujjwal and Mr Dinesh gave their valuable suggestions to the candidates.

Then we had a 3 member role play activity. Surprisingly, this went very well. This is because most of the members were new, so we thought it might be little difficult for them. But they were so comfortable among themselves, that they performed outstandingly.

Harmeet and Jasmeet, SINGH Brothers left early as they had their business meeting arranged, Mr Ujjwal left early as he had a business appointment.

There were other things in the agenda as well but due to time constraint, it could not be completed. For the next time, we will be having a time keeper and hopefully, we will move indoor for the further meetings.

Herbertpur update.

Sumit and Atul came. We picked up the newspaper - read some news items and then presented the information as a synopsis, followed by rapid questions. I recorded and replayed it for them. Today's meeting was more one on one and both Sumit and Atul were opening up- sharing their thoughts, fears and doubts.

DEHRADUN SHG MEETING REPORT

Venue- SMI Hospital, Patel Nagar, Dehradun. Today two new members attended the meeting viz Atul and Vineet. Atul previously took speech therapy for about 2 years and his speech improved a lot, and Vineet who is already a member of tisa from past 2-2½ years used to attend SHG meetings in Herbertpur, today came here as he is studying in Dehradun. So we started off by introduction, and everyone told about themselves and shared their experiences. Atul's queries about tisa, about stammering were answered by other members. For next meeting we decided to change our venue to Gandhi Park, situated at the heart of the city so that we can get more exposure. And Sachin sir please provide us with your valuable suggestions about what we can do in our meetings.
