Movie Hate Story and Stammering.

Dear friends,

Last evening I saw the movie Hate Story and appreciated the role of a stammerer played by Gulshan Devaiya in a negative character. He acted stammering with great conviction. I was pleased to note that no one in the theatre laughed when he stammered. It means people have matured and they were taking stammering as a way of talking only. People don’t have any problem with it. It is only WE who are over conscious and stammer more in order to project us a non stammerer. So friends, lets accept our stammering. Society is not much bothered the way we talk. Credit also goes to the director Vivek Agnihotri for projecting such a balance role of a person who stammers. Two more things which I noted in the movie . Sidharth (Gulshan) stammers mostly in front of his father of whom he is much scared of. He is not stammering even while giving a speech in AGM of company. Right, we should work more on our fear factors instead of speech. Second the more Sidharth was indulging in negative/ revengeful activities, the stammering was increasing. In the movie even his father indicates once: tumhari stammering barh rahi hai. It is absolutely true. Leading a pious life helps on our stammering. Indulgence in wrongful activities disturbs our breath , resulting in more stammering. So lead a truthful life and have much peace.

I would love to give a free ticket to the movie to Rohit Sh*tty, so that he can make better films! In fact the entire Golmaal 3 team should be given a free pass..

Such movies make not only society mature- but they also help us, the stammerers, to reconsider our attitudes and reactions..

Congrats to everyone involved..

Showing stammering as to what it really is, does take a lot of home work on the part of director and the actor (because even the speech therapists don't seem to understand it)! We need movies that celebrate human diversity. I hope the negative role has nothing to do with his stammering. Will surely checkout the movie.

Thanks a lot Jasbir ji for writing the review and spreading awareness.

Just got a call from Mr. Rohit Malhotra, dialogue writer of movie Hate Story conveying his thanks for appreacting the role of Mr. Gulshan Devaiya in the movie as a stammerer, which he did it with great conviction. He also deserves heartiest congratulations for the same. We wish him very best in his career. I would love to know the secret how he could do the role with such conviction , himself being a non stammerer. I appeal all the PWS all over India and abroad to watch the movie and leave a comment on the stammerer role of Mr. Gulshan. In our cause taken for the movie Golmaal, so far we have not been able to get a breakthrough. But this is a God sent opportunity. Please don’t let it go and get its maximum advantage for our cause.

Mr. Rohit Malhotra ji, very sincere thanks for your call and showing interest in TISA.

Just read the review of the movie on Wikipedia. There was no mention of stammering at all. That is how it should be. Stammering should be shown as just a diversity in human population. Not as the centerpiece of the comedy- like some other cheap comedies made in Bollywood..

yes our socity have become matuare.if any body smile during stammering it doesn't mean that he is smiling on stammering it may be other reasons of his smiling.agar wo smile kar bhi deta hai hamare haklane to sayad wo apni smile ke through ye kahna chata ho ki mujhe kushi hai ki tum itne struggle hone ke bad bhi apne ideas mujse share kar rahe ho...
