The direct encounter with "thought of stammering"

As explained in Vipassana & other meditation techniques, more we try to run away from any thought, more intense would be its bonding to us & vice versa.

It is a very deep phenomenon; needs a lot of inner awareness & consciousness to understand. But, a stammerer can understand this phenomenon very easily :-) thanks to his time to time encounters with ever new surprises of his stammering.

Shyam, an adult stammerer, 24 yrs old, never considered 'Hello' as a feared word for him.Used to be a easy task for his to say hello when landline phone of his house rings since his childhood. But today when he picked his mobile phone to greet his boss over the phone, he almost run out of breath & this universal way of greeting ' hello' seems almost impossible for him to pronounce.

What is this!!!!

Shyam is puzzled.Never expected such a surprise ever as hello has been a very easy word to speak out every since he remember.

Now what???

Shyam is feeling restless with heartbeat bouncing so loud that can be listened clearly going up-down up-down.Now after few minutes of this unexpected set back, he assembled himself; feeling ready for upcoming challenges (Stammerers are always fighters with Never give up attitude).
In next 2 days, he attended a few phone calls & tried almost all the techniques he knew like deeeeeeep breathing before speaking, bbbbouncing, p......rolongation to speak hello while greeting. But failed!!!

One more strange thing had happened in these 2 days. He focus was so much inclined towards the word ' hello' that he was speaking other feared alphabets which he had feared since years with quite ease.He was quite surpised as well as frustrated due to this new face oh his stammering.

Thanks to internet, he get to read few articles on vipassana & other meditation techniques & understood that rather than trying so hard to speak out after picking the mobile phone to respond, he must give his stammering some space. He must try to feel & observe his facial & body movement & response while answering the phone call.

Hope he is on the right track & will get out of this invisible ghost of forever block sooner or later.

Yes, becoming friends with stammering helps in a deeper way.. Observing oneself and one's reactions to a given situation is the FIRST step.. But this requires calmness and lot of inner practice..Great!
