I am sure people from Chandigarh and places in vicinity will participate and make the most of this opportunity... Participating in TISA workshop is a great way to break open the shell and come out of our comfort zones......
I wonder if some of the old boys (from previous Workshops) would care to drop in.. Everyone will benefit..
Looking forward to it..
great opportunity........me coming
Cool..nice job !!!
Certainly the attendace would easily be more than 10.
l m also interested ....thanks
Great! This is becoming "state of the art" communication workshop. Congrats- Nitin, JP and all the participants. I hope people will be able to see this registration fee- not as an investment in their own fluency- but as sharing cost of knick knack, while meeting friends..an investment in the community.
Should TISA be this much strict on refund of registration fee? I think the amount should be refunded if the person couldn't attend the workshop.
Dear Sudheedhran, It is something that we have learnt from experience. It takes a lot of effort to organise and facilitate a workshop. Remember organisers and facilitators are not paid anything for their efforts. We may refund the money (actually that's what we have been doing till now.) We even have waived off the complete amount if someone cannot afford it but some people are taking us for granted by leaving the workshop midway for very flimsy reasons or reasons that they were already aware of! Shouldn't we expect participants to stick to their commitments. Aren't our efforts worth it? We had to wind-up herbertpur workshop because most people left midway ?
By the way if you have any better suggestions, we welcome them. Remember we too are learning and growing!
There are two issues here: when you book a venue, the rent has to be paid, whether one participant attends or eight do. That is a commitment which has to be honored, if we have to continue working with those partners. Secondly, most people dont get serious unless they have invested something in the process. So, the registration fee is only to make people commit themselves to their own recovery. Thirdly, Rs 1000 is nothing compared to what people contributed in Goa workshop- and they did have a very nice workshop (based on the feedback and subsequent emails).
Lastly, this fee is "transferable"- which is almost like being refundable: Suppose I fail to go at the last moment, I can ask a PWS friend to participate against the same fee. And chances are that person will pay Rs 1000 to me at some time (if he is a bonafide PWS :-)..
If somebody leaves the workshop midway, there is no need to refund the money, though we have to find out why he left. My question was about refunding the money if a person couldn't attend the workshop at all. Findings another person to whom the registration could be transferred might not be possible.
One suggestion is to publish the entire cost of the workshop in advance and convey to the participants that the cost will have to be borne by them. Let the organizers collect the money on the first day.
how many participants have confirmed yet???
i am not so much lucky to join this workshop. my final exams are running in June. i surely miss this golden opportunity. hope other candidates will surely catch this.
two people have confirmed including you. Around 6 more people have expressed their willingness!
well come on guys (including gals too if they stammers)!!!!!!
let us complete the magical figure of 10 students........as it is a golden opportunity for all PWS in & around chandigarh to enjoy this unique experience.
i hope the final figure would be a lot more than 10...

Sikander
Most of us warm up a little late- and this does cause some problem for organisers..It is like having a train ticket on long waiting list for a long long journey! Anyway, better late than never! A nice group is shaping up. JP have you given presentation assignments to participants..? Just to remind.
Yes Sachin sir, I have given them :-)...
hi JP,
can u just guide how to reach the venue from:-
1.) Sector 17 ISBT
2.) Sector 43 ISBT
Get down at Sector 17 main bus stand. From there, you can get a bus, rikshaw or auto. It is about 4 Kms from Sector 17 main bus stand (ISBT)
Best of luck, friends! Make good use of the three days and develop a network of support and friendship..
