Action!!! Not just words and theories....

From last few weeks, i can see a lot of posts here at our TISA blog comprising of motivational theories, inspirational quotes, positive thoughts etc.

Considering stammering's psychological aspect and fluctuating nature, continuous dosage of motivation and inspiration is mandatory.

But, most of the times, it happens that people just stick to these theoretical knowledge and motivational stories rather than being PRACTICAL.It is east to read theories and inspirational videos at our rooms than doing practical exercises in outer world and improve.

But, the fact is that if we will not do practical things and just keep on accumulation theoretical knowledge, than it can be actually dangerous. As we will assume ourselves knowing all about stammering, still suffering.

So, being quite an old member of TISA family, i hope all of us agree to me,specially the new members and will devote more and more time in exploring validity of all the theories and techniques in outer world by using them and SHARE their experience here at blog.

Happy Journey!!!

@ Ashish ,

You are bang on right, no doubt shared stories , quotations from the INTERNET and elsewhere are good food for thought, but what we want is actual practical experiences , other wise this blog would only become another backup information repository.

Yes- when we started, this blog was meant for: Conduct an SHG and THEN write about it. Now, first part is being forgotten -- sadly.

Agarwal, Without the knowledge of theory, how can one put the techniques into practice. As an old member you might have known all the quotes. Think about the new members who are joining day by day and also they are totally blank about stammering. Also as Lalith pointed out, all quotations may not applicable or liked by a PWS. But even a single quotation can change his life. I am not a regular blog writer. I know pretty well that reading quotations everyday by other members is a boring exercise. After posting some good quotations, I will stop it.I always vote for attending SHG meetings. There is no substitute for supporting group.

absolutely right....
their are so many blogs, video comprising of
motivational theories,inspirational
quotes,positive thoughts etc
we
should share here experiences , book , video, SHG , workshop or quote related to stammering only.

One more suggestion. The stuttering quotes were created by well experienced SLPs who mostly were ex-stutterers themselves. These quotes can be discussed and practiced in SHG meetings. After all our association is a young one and each coordinator (including myself) will take SHG meetings in one direction which only known to him and which may not liked or applicable to some of the members. If the coordinator understand each quote thoroughly and explain it in SHG meetings, it would be beneficial to all the PWS.

i can see valuable comments of all the senior guys!!!

Dear Manimaran sir and all others, as i mentioned in my post, motivational quotes, inspirational stories benefit, no doubt about it.But, what i have personally experienced and seen others doing the same that sometimes, we just get used to read and write a lot about stammering and totally ignore the need of doing things practically.

In this post, i have highlighted the need for PRACTICAL exercises and then sharing the same here...

Hope my words are well accepted now.

Dear Manimaran sir, your quotes are so practical and path showing.

Please continue!!!

Yes, Agarwal. I fully agree with you. Practicing is more important after learning theory part. I already posted 60% of good quotes and the remaining I will post it in a week time. There is no meaning posting all quotes months together which is a mere repetition of one another. I request all the coordinators to discuss / practice the quotes in the SHG meetings.
