SHG Meeting 3/06/2012

Attendee -- Me and Dr Sachin . First of all we had some general talks. Then Dr Sachin took my interview as a Visa officer. First I spoke in my normal way. I was stammering and struggling on each word. Then Dr Sachin asked me to use Prolongation technique. Now I was surprised that i was talking so fluently .Not even a single block was there.

See the video (3 min is of my normal speech and 7 min is using prolongation tech), link is given below:-

After that we went outside and Dr Sachin asked Mr Johnson to take my interview as if I was applying for a job at Lehman hospital. Dr Sachin asked me to use the same prolongation technique. Now I was again surprised that I couldn’t use prolongation at all and was struggling a lot to speak out the words properly. Not a single word was coming out without putting an extra effort. Sometime no air was coming out from my mouth.

After that we went to Mr Johnson’s home and I talked with his wife, who is a pathologist. Again I was struggling to speak but she listened me so patiently J . She asked me some questions and then I asked her few questions. It was a good conversation. After that she offered us Ice cream .So nice of her .

After that we went for a walk in the tea garden and had some discussion --- We should accept that we are different from normal people. Now that doesn’t mean that we cannot do anything. There is a lot we can do. Also controlling stammering is not a 100 m race but a marathon race.

Your last line was amazing and explained the problem faced by many in one line - "controlling stammering is not a 100 m race but a marathon race"

Very Good write-up gorav. Life is always like a marathon where one cannot stop till they reaches their destination.
