I stammer more while talking in english....

It has been a common belief among most of the stammerers that their frequency of stammering varies from language to language. I do also believe the same. Being brought up and working in northern India, I have always believed that I am most comfortable in hindi; talking in English and other languages like Punjabi had always been a quite a discomfort experience for me.

Today, tele-communicating over phone, that also with a girl, I experienced significant increase in blocks. During the after talk analysis, I figured out that my talking speed was quite rapid during that conversation. It was something like a rapid-fire question-answer round than a normal casual talk. I was continuously interrupting her even before she finished her words. And, finally I also noted that I didn’t enjoyed the conversation to that extent as expected just because I didn’t either let her complete her words nor I did express myself fully.

So, the stuttering mind set (past experiences) that I am going to stammer more in English , and the emotional imbalance as I was talking to a girl were the driving force behind my super fast talking speed. And, we all know that super fast internet speed is very good but super fast talking speed is not a healthy thing at all.

So, I guess the basic problem is not the language, but the stuttering mind set or in broader term, the lack of ability to ‘stay in present moment’. If I can stay in the PRESENT MOMENT with full awareness which is well achievable with MEDITATION, in that case, I will be able to enjoy a happy talking experience in all speech languages.
