The Herbertpur group organised a press meet (above) today and spoke to journalists from the regional media (Dainik Jagran, Dainik Prabhat, AtoZ channel) and shared our concern about the Golmaal 3: it promotes stereotypes, caricatures a health condition with significant suffering and that it will promote teasing, bullying, harassment of people and children who stammer. We started with screening of the clip in question, followed by discussion on our grounds for objections and the notices issued by the High court, Nainital on 30th Oct. 2010. Copy of judgment and the press note was issues. Vineet, Nishu, Pawan and Permanand told the journalists how & why they found the clip insulting and hurtful. Youngest member of our group, Siddharth, too shared the same sentiment. (Video below). Listen carefully for his verdict on the movie- as a child who stammers.
