Before starting the blog, I would like to thank Harish to provide me the platform of toastmasters and TISA-SHG in Goa and helping me throughout.
It was my first toastmasters meeting and I was quite nervous. I was also playing the role of grammarian.
Firstly I have to explain about my role and I was very uncomfortably doing that and unconsciously stammering very much.
Then meeting started with the table topics speeches, in which topics were given on the spot and anyone can volunteer to perform. First topic was given and I want to perform because I learnt the habit of initiating from Sachin sir. But I said to myself dude it's your first meeting and you didn't have any right to give boredom to anyone, so I kept quite. Second topic was given and luckily not many people raised their hand. It was good motivation for me to raise my hand, it was the performance of 2 people and luckily I got a very beautiful lady to perform along with me. In that performance, I didn't think about stammering and just lost myself into the character, I was stammering but more than that I was enjoying. I was playing the role of a guy searching his Cricket ball on the road and lady was waiting for rikshaw who didn't know anything about Cricket, then conversation started on Cricket and it's went on and produced good humour.
Total 6 people gave the performance in table topic speeches, and at the end when the result was declared president said, "Champ, you got the highest no. of votes. Congratulations, you are the best table topic speaker of the day."
I was like shocked, "Oh! My God".
I learnt one thing if you enjoy the speaking then people would enjoy more than you in listening.

Awesome Vikas! You did it!!!
Great!
Give a little more thought to what helped such a good performance. What did YOU do, or feel, or think differently, which produced that outcome? Analyse, introspect and internalise..
Keep at it..and keep sharing.
The journey has just begin Vikas. Keep walking on the path. After 4-5 meetings you will be surprised to note the change within yourself.
Hopefully I will join you in Goa Toastmaster club's one meet in 3rd week of october.
All the Best.
Congratulations. Also must add, very inspiring for future Toastmasters aspirants like myself....
Beautiful ending. Will carry the last line to my funeral pyre or grave whichever fate is kind enough to provide!!
Harish, Thanks.
