------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Nainital HC has issued notices to respondents (including Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision ltd and others) on our plea that the promo clips of the movie show stammering in very poor light. It promotes stereotypes and teasing, harassment, discrimination against people (including children) who stammer. It makes fun of stammerers (PWS) for cheap humor and to make money- for commercial interests. It denigrates and trivializes a health condition which actually causes considerable emotional suffering and setbacks in life. The Hon'ble judges have taken a favorable note of our prayer. The Community of Indians who stammer (which includes our families and friends) wish to thank them and Advocate Renu D Singh and Adv Prabha Nautiyal (Pic above) for this valuable service to our search for acceptance and dignity, as enshrined in Indian Constitution.

We will be putting up scanned images of the order here soon. Please print it and call a press meeting in your town and other public bodies and share it with them. Tell them, write to them, why YOU and TISA is opposing such caricaturing of a neuro-biological communication disorder in a powerful mainstream media like movies. Because the message which goes out through such movies is: It is okay to tease, imitate, harass, bully someone who stammers..
Well, it is NOT okay.

Please support us, since this is only the first small step. We are planning a Press meeting in Dehardun in next 2-3 days to share this verdict with media, Social welfare minister (UK) and others. Keep checking this space. Plesae send your contributions to Shri Nitin Tomar (Founding Trustee, TISA).

this should be taken up by media.
this is really a sensitive issue......if we get support from media then it will help us in large extent and the director and concerned authorities will realise their mistake about making fun of so called disability.
else he wont be much affected as his lawyers will handle it and he wont understand the pain of making fun of disables.
